Still NO Knitting...

Blogwise:
I'm going to try to add Friday's Flowers to my blogging routine. I'm in love with my yard...and all the blooms we have. They just fade so fast. Maybe this form of gathering will make them last longer than 3 days in a vase.

Healthwise:
4 is feeling better. He shows how he can turn his head to the left. He still has headaches though...but he's not willing to make a return visit to the Dr.

Kidwise:
5 has been vacationing with Nana (my mom) and it's amazing how much these 2 little ones miss each other. 5 & 4 are talking on the phone to each other several times a day. Thank God for free Verizion calls. 4 doesn't really know how to sleep by himself. He and 2 get along much better when the dynamic of 3 kids isn't there...4 has asked to sleep with 2 in her room...because his room is lonely. 2 gave up her crib for good yesterday. At nap time, I'd put her in the crib...she'd climb right out, open her door and head back out to the living room or kitchen. After 4 times...I just put her in her room and closed the door. 10 min. later she was sleeping in her little toddler bed. I think we'll be packing up the crib this weekend. It's a sad day. The crib has been set up for almost 6 years and in constant use. Our little ones are so close that we were always booting out one for the next to use the crib. 5 was out of the crib at 17 mo. and in a toddler bed, 4 was already too big for the bassinet at that point (my dad made the toddler beds for us...we have 2) 4 got to stay in the crib until he was 22 mo. but I wanted him transitioned before 2 arrived. The boys room had 2 toddler beds until this May. 5 could have used a bigger bed sooner, but we weren't going to buy cheap furniture and we didn't have $$$ for new beds. This is how we spent this years tax refund. We bought the "Arts&Crafts" style. There's nothing like furniture they make for you after you order it. So, with the boys in their big beds, and 2 settling into a toddler bed. The crib is empty. I'm a little sad. I'm excited to be moving on...but a little sad.

Knitwise:
Still no knitting.
  • I'm anxious to finish the Lutea Lace shell...It's the first fitted item I've knit for myself. But...no knitting in 3 days!!! I've already knit the back shoulders and I'm working on the short rows for the front. If I could just dedicate some time, I'd be done in a flash.
  • My tote for the Spring Felted Bag Exchange isn't going well. I felted it and is shrank not to the measurements it should have. If I can be artistic in my finishing, then it will be adorable. If not, then I'll be using the back up bag. I really don't want to do that. It's sort of a failure for me.
  • I did have company yesterday. M's cousin. She wants to knit. I'll be so excited if I can convert another. And I told her about this blog...but I'm not sure if she'll check or not. F, if you're out there...leave a comment. Or send me an email.

Today I have to knit! KM

I like the Arts & Crafts style beds you bought. And I understand you being sad about moving away from the crib. Even though as parents we are happy our kids grow up to be wonderful adults, we miss them as little kids. Sometimes it's even hard for me to look at pictures of my daughter when she was little. :) I love who she is now, but I miss her as a little girl.

what would we do?
