I've had so much to say...and I'm not getting to type any of my thoughts. I've added myself to a ring...unsocialized knitters...I have a lot in common with those folks...and being in an exchange has helped me meet new people. When I started this blog, it was just to be a journal for me. But, meeting people along the way has been fun.
Kidwise:
It seems that 5 is saying all the cute stuff lately. Sitting with my mom reading books that I got from the library about the U.S. and the 4th of July (the librarians kindly create a shelf of holiday specific books).
- Nana: The Capital of California is Sacramento.
- 5: Oh....those are our Capitals...Where's our lowercase???
Huh? We've been working on writing letters...to him everything that has a capital has a lowercase.
2 has been into lotions. Early last week she emptied a drawer in my bathroom and found a small tube of Monistat cream...she carefully spread this all over her legs. On Thursday afternoon in the amount of time it took me to turn on "How It's Made" for the boys, she emptied an entire grapefruit sparkle lotion from Bath and Body Works on her legs and the rug. Then yesterday, I forgot to lock the fridge when I showered...the ranch dressing and the mustard were in the freezer. The frozen banana slices for smoothies were all over the kitchen floor. And she was coming to me with the chocolate syrup asking for "juice". I can't even blink around her.
Even around here, I write about 2 & 5 but seem to leave 4 out. On a good day, he's the best cuddle bug around. On an average day...he's outright defiant. I'm not really sure what to do with him. Like yesterday when I tell 5 no more washcloths in the tub...4 goes down the hall and takes ALL of the remaining washcloths and dumps them in the water. It's not like I don't have enough laundry. And I can't get over how he does exactly what I say not to. Our big struggle has been with him jumping on the bed. We just bought new beds for the boys room. They're awesome...and they were expensive too. I don't know that I ever jumped on the bed as a kid...I would have expected a swat. 4....well, he's jumping on the bed every chance he gets. Even when he's been sleeping on the floor in his sleeping bag as a punishment. Guess that one wasn't effective. It worked for 5...to understand that he didn't deserve the bed. What do I do with this wild jelly bean?
Knitwise: 2 decide to sit with me and knit a few rows...

That's such a cute picture! It sounds like 2 and 4 are going through stages that are challenging. But it also sounds like 2 has her priorities straight if she wants chocolate to drink. ;)
be nice to the middle child... we're the *special* ones! actually, my sitter's middle one sounds much like 4. i tell her the same thing, since i'm a middle, too!
