Whatever happened to my V-Neck Tee?

I started this in September. Nowhere in the pattern does it say to measure under the bust, or the fullest part of the bust...or anything like that. I decided that I'd be a small.

I knew that there were problems. I still couldn't conceive knitting an X-Small. If I'm an X-Small...what about all the thin women out there??? I'm not HUGE, but I need to lose at least 15lbs. and 25 if I want to be where I was at when I got married (though many thought I was too thin then). I'm not complaining about my weight so much here...as how can a 5'7" 160# woman be an X-Small. It's great for the ego....but not if you have to frog this much knitting.

I decided to blaze on and knit the last 2" of the bodice on Friday night. Saturday I tried this on. There was so much gaping. And I couldn't blame it on the cord still being in the stitches. And at 45" around...and the fullest part of my bust is 38"...39" with a padded bra, there was nothing left to do but FROG the entire sweater. I now have 3 balls of yarn again. I'm going to wait until this head cold is gone before I try to look at the numbers of the sweater again.
Today, because of Anne's Sunday Bloglines, I saw this. Here, Friender knits a 2-4 sweater for a 5 yo. I have that pattern too. I'm wondering just how generous these KP&S patterns?! So, if you want to feel good about yourself...buy a pattern where you can knit the smallest size.

Oh no! Bad news indeed.

Wow! Verrry generous small and that's a lot of yarn to wind back up. Good luck when you're able to think about the math. Get well soon!

Wow! It sounds like I definitely need to use one of those patterns! :)

It's going to be such a cute sweater, though, if you do get the size worked out. I love the yarn knit up in that style.

And I'm stunned to discover that you're so much taller than I am. For some reason I always assumed we're the same size. It's funny now that I think about it.
