Today is a busy school day, but I wanted to write about yesterday while it was on my mind.
Healthwise: I saw the orthopedist. Today I need to schedule an MRI. I need to ask about being backed in (so my head isn't in the machine) or if there is an Open MRI available. Especially since I can't take my ipod in with me. I have it loaded with music that's refocused me and gotten me through a bunch of touch days at the endodontist. The fun part...or the part that makes me feel 75...I have a temporary handicap placard for my car. This will really help at church...they're building a parking structure and so during construction parking is very limited. We used to walk from home...but M has been dropping me off all summer. And, this will help a ton in other places where I would encounter a full parking lot. For the last 9 weeks, I've pretty much just hung around home. But, we have to move on with life...even if I'm not back to full strength. At least I've perfected driving with my left foot. Yes...that was the biggest reason we didn't go far from home this summer. It's hard to drive with the left foot...and it took me awhile to get good enough to trust myself with kids in the car.
Kidwise: Yesterday, while I was at the orthopedist, one of my old youth group girls (she's a junior in college now) watched the kids. We'd seen her in August watching some other kids and they had a lemonade stand. My kids have been waiting for their turn. I totally can't get over that 5, 4, & 2...made $16.25 selling lemonade for 25 cents a glass. And A. made them count change...so there weren't a bunch of extra tips in the jar. They set up in front of our house during pick-up at the local elementary school. And they used lemons from the tree in our yard. My little entrepreneurs want to do this again soon.

I am so sorry about the upcoming trials with MRIs and whatever else that entails. I bet it is a relief to have the placard for your car!
My kids also like doing lemonade stands, especially since the afternoons are still hot!
Wow, that's really fresh lemonade! :) I hope you do well with the MRI and that it shows the doctors everything they need to know.
I will be praying for you! I know that any kind of health thing is way more stressful when there are kids to take care of too!
Hooray for lemonade!
good luck with the mri, although i don't know that i'd want to surrender the handicapped sign in the end...
and yeah kids! that's a great learning experience for them. a little chemistry... a little math... some customer service... all good things.
I have a permanent placard that I use only if another open close regular spot isn't available. If I will be somewhere for a long time, I won't take up one of a few handicapped spots. But sometimes it's necessary. I think my friends like the convenience more than me! Good luck with your MRI.
And, how cool the lemonade stand. Wish I could have bought some!
