Dill...

...with a sprinkling of ladybugs. I went out to pick zucchini earlier this week...and my dill is growing right in the midst. I was so excited to find ladybugs (there must have been 10) on my little dill plant. I'm convinced that even if I don't get to clip the dill for consumption, that it makes my zucchini taste better just from proximity. So, here's the dill just crawling with ladybugs.

And for anyone who's wondering. Last week's flowers are jupiter's beard. I had to ask M.

My mom used to grow dill to make pickles. I've never grown any. I love those ladybugs!

Lady bugs are lucky. And they eat aphids. They're best insect control, naturally. :-) Thanks for the giggle on the sharpie story, it sure did make me smile!
