I was on the way out the door to have lunch with a friend. My mom had come over to watch the kiddos...and the earth started shaking. I live probably 10 miles from the epicenter. It shook quite a bit here. Only the shower doors fell off. Thank God they fell into the shower and that the glass didn't break. I was able to fix that easy enough.
6 is still pretty shaken up. I found some color pages from the USGS that explain the earth's crust, mantle and core, and also show types of faults. I hope this satisfies his curiosities. The other kids were less disturbed by this afternoon's events.
So while that was fun...my lunch was the real FUN!
I got to meet a knitter at the local Corner Bakery. I went to high school, college, and even China with this special knitter. Then when we lived in different cities, we lost touch with one another. I was so surprised to see her in Michael's a few weeks ago. And really excited to discover that she's a knitter and even on Ravelry too. It will be so fun catching up...and maybe soon we can start exploring some of the not so local LYS in our area together. Thanks for a fun lunch. =0)

How great for you to rediscover a friend and have a new knitting buddy now! And I'm so glad you're fine after the earthquake.
Thank YOU for such a great lunch. Can't wait for a repeat!
An exciting day all the way around!
That was a fun earthquake. How cool that you and Heidi went to lunch.
Yikes! I'm glad you guys are okay.
We're 70 some miles from the epicenter and we still felt it. It felt like the dog had gotten under our couch and was rolling around. I didn't realize it was a quake until I noticed my son was looking around under his chair too.
Glad everything is okay there. :-) At least you got to have lunch a meet up with an old friend. That's always the best. :-)
I wondered if you felt that... Glad all is okay out there. A good reconnect soothed the shakes I'm sure!
glad you are okay and still got to have lunch too!!!
Wow...I didn't realize how close you were! I thought of you when I heard about the quake, but thought you were well away. Glad it was OK.
So fun that you reconnected with a friend, who knits!
Sounds like a great lunch and a real earth shaking experience. Isn't living in California fun?!
