It's Monday...and I'm trying to blog at least every Monday. But come to think of it now, I'm not sure if I wrote last week, or if that was 2 weeks ago. Even when I can't create a new post, I do read other blogs...instead of a newspaper...with my morning coffee. I read something interesting last week...why blog if no one is reading/leaving comments. I don't really write this to others...it's more a collection place for my thoughts...and if someone finds me and stops to say "HI!" I"m pleased to make a new friend, but I'll write weather else anyone is reading or not. I'm just happy to have a little corner in my life that doesn't have to be about my kids...oh, but wait...I do talk about them a lot. I don't know why I'm here...but I know that blogging is important to me...and my sanity. I hope that the processing of my thoughts helps me to realize how blessed I am to have fun children, time for a hobby...and time to talk about both.
Schoolwise:
My copy of Five in a Row came this weekend. Reading this makes me more excited about the coming school year.
Knitwise:
I lost my Spiral Rib Bag...I think the kids were using it as a sleeping bag for a doll. I'll have to find it so I can take pictures.
I finished the knitting of the Banana Hobo Bag, but I'm not sure when I'll felt it. The bags store easier when they're floppy, and I don't like having wet wool around for days. Maybe when the weather warms up again, or maybe if I need a gift. Or maybe if I have more things to felt with it...
I found some little trinkets to knit. Felted Fortune Cookies! How cute is that! I knit one with the Cascade 220 in camel that I had to buy to finish the Hobo Bag...perfect cookie color. I knit this up during just one American Idol. Now, to find time to felt...hmmm didn't I just have that problem. Check out Indigo Muse ...I was there again to get that link (in case someone is reading), and saw she's got a pattern for sale...and the proceeds go to Heifer. And I just had to laugh...I call my little 1 'chichi'!
Since knitting is my obsession, I'm always curious about projects that drive others to KNIT. UNTIL. FINISHED! So, when Cara sat on the couch for a whole weekend, I knew I had to check it out. But the thing is, stripes didn't do it for me. I'd printed out the Partial Garter Miter months ago...and finally decided to knit a few...ok, well maybe I'll knit a bunch. It is addicting. I like how Kay says "Yes, it's very special to me. I can't say why." I get that. For some reason the Partial Garter gets to me like plain stockinette couldn't...even if it was an opportunity to play with color. But, that's what I love about knitting. It's just a medium of expression. And each piece has it's own voice.
Time to go kiss little ones good night...km
