M wanted a hat with texture. I needed not to be knitting cables (my current WIP vest has cables). I found this snail hat and thought it could work. Yes the pattern is in Japanese, but there is a standard knitting chart. Some notes are up on Ravelry in English. I did CO less stitches because M wouldn't want a slouchy hat. And he'll be wearing the hat folded up. Here it is just before i used a 3 needle BO to form the cylinder.

Neat!!
And I like #2 best, but that's not something I could defend.
1, but just cause I can see the texture best.
Love the hat!
I like #2 best as a photo, #1 best as a photo showing this hat. So I'm giving a resounding vote of "it depends...."
Great job! Very brave of you to knit from a Japanese pattern! I like photo #1 the best because of the colors.
Neat pattern! I like #2.
What a great hat!
great hat! i like the colour in number 1 the best because i think that it is most accurate, but number 2 is a fabulous photo.
Very cool looking hat. Bummer about those moths though.
I like #2. Artsy...
