One of our favorite things about Napa is the Hot Air Balloons! My Gramp lives close to one of the landing locations. Take off and landing depend on the fog that might have rolled in and where the wind blows. About 6:45am...you can run out into the street and this is what you'll see. Of course my kids are all early risers.
Here's a shot of one going down behind the neighbor's house. I'm standing in my Gramp's driveway to take this shot. And somehow it seemed to be going down not where it was supposed to.
So we got in the car and followed it. Here it is. It was landing on private property, so they let the people out and then had to get the balloon to fly again and drag it with ropes back over the fence into the park where the land was flat enough for the balloon to deflate.
But, while it was in someone's vineyard...it sure made for some good shots. You can click to see this bigger.
